Pore Pressure Prediction view

The Pore Pressure Prediction view displays the logs necessary for pore pressure prediction, each in a separate lithology-filtered track. The view enables you to draw and fit normal compaction trend lines for interpreting the pore pressure. You open this view from the Filter Parameters form, which is an option under the Input Logs and Filtering button of the Compaction Analysis workflow (1D model > Pore Pressure > Compaction Analysis > Input Log and Filtering).

Because NCTs are only valid on a true vertical depth scale, make sure your depth tracks are showing true vertical depth, not measured depth.  If not, right-click in the Depth track and select TVDSS or TVD from the Scale menu.

You can create a NCT as a linear, exponential, logarithmic, or power trend. The following section describes how to create a normal compaction trend line for use in the pore pressure prediction
